About me

I was a vet for 36 years, treating a range of species from dogs and cats to horses. I was always fascinated by animal behaviour, and all the problems that could arise (both physical and emotional) from living in a human environment, and how the emotional experiences of the owners could affect their pets.

I am acutely aware of the stresses and strains of working in an intense and high- pressure environment over a long period of time (as well as the stresses just from daily life), and the effects it can have on someone’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

I have had my own chronic health journey, developing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome 25 years ago due in part to the relentless pressure I put myself under. I started to investigate personal development tools and strategies, and alternative bodywork practices. Initially I just wanted to “fix” myself, until I realized that I needed a more radical change in my ways of thinking and being in the world. Albert Einstein said “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”. 

I started to look at the patterns of thinking and behaviour that were running my life (mainly unconsciously), and realized that these needed to change for my life to be more sustainable. I also began to understand the power of reconnecting with my body.

Having experienced my own journey of change, I realized how many people around me at work and in my life were struggling and just getting by, and not thriving. I wanted to help people discover their own unique path in life to feel more fulfilled. I came across Therapeutic Coaching, (devised by Alex Howard and Anna Duschinsky) and started studying with them in 2020. 

When I am not working or studying, I love to be out in the hills walking my dog, or down at the yard with my horses, or having a long bath whilst reading a novel, or dancing.

How can I help?

Want to find a new path? Feeling stuck? I can help you explore where you want to go, and gently guide you whilst you discover the blocks that are getting in your way- from fears and anxieties, to limiting beliefs.

Problems can arise within our mind, body and emotions, and can be affected by the past, present or future, and are often completely unconscious, and seem “normal”. By teasing out where they arise, we can focus on those areas and find a pathway into a new way of being- still as the same person, but without the blocks. 

I use a range of tools such as NLP, coaching, EFT, mindfulness, hypnotherapy, somatic practices and breathwork, in a warm, safe, trauma-informed, supportive space. These can be used to establish a strong base of safety and nervous system regulation before exploring limiting mental patterns, enabling emotional healing, and effecting behavioural change.

How do I work?

  • Individually

    I offer one-to-one sessions over zoom, either as a stand-alone session, or more usually as a block of longer work. Sessions usually last an hour, but can be adapted to your individual needs, if energy is a concern. The approach used is tailored to the individual.

  • Group sessions

    For businesses and organisations, I offer a range of presentations for mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, often on how to manage stress, and offering a range of short- and long- term practices. These can be tailored to suit the organisation’s needs, and usually vary between one and a half hours to a full day. Ideally these are done in person, but can be done over zoom in some cases.

  • Tapping for Success

    It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Whether your aim is to gallop bareback and bridleless on the beach, reduce tension in a dressage test, conquer your fears over jumping, or just to have a relaxed hack in the countryside, “tapping”, also known as Emotional Freedom Technique can help to calm your brain and reduce your fears and anxieties, and help your horse to be more relaxed too.
